Most of my work is subcontracted via web designers or agencies - I build the site or application that someone else has designed. Most of the sites included here are written on the MODx or Silverstripe content management systems.

Other packages that I have experience of include Simple Machines Forum as seen on the Mountain Rescue site and Wordpress as featured on the recent rebuild of Samantha Peare's site. Both of these are, like MODx, examples of established open source software.

Where appropriate I use the jQuery library within any Javascript code. If your site requires media embedding I can do this using Flowplayer or JWplayer. Sites can be designed to degrade gracefully in the absence of the user's browser having the ability to play Flash content.

  • Musicalchairs

Musicalchairs required a custom built CMS tailored to their specialist requirements. Their aim is to be the number one point of call for classical musicians the world over. The site continues to be developed and more features are planned to be introduced before the end of year.

  • Mountain Rescue England and Wales

MREW required a complete rebuild of their existing site. Existing functionality needed to be brought up to date and this includes a member's area and forums as well as extensive public content.

  • Beaconhill School

Beaconhill is a busy secondary school in Cumbria. The school required a new look to their website and also wanted an easier to use Content Management System. The website is an important link in the communication between home, school, and the wider community.

  • Hakuba TV, Japan

Hakuba TV is based in Japan. This site features a multi-language content management system and leverages the multimedia power of modern browsers to bring the excitement of the snow slopes to the user's screen.

  • Golana

Golana of Switzerland's website shows the ability to incorporate Flash (supplied by the designer) within a content manageable system. Unlike many Flash based sites, the content is fully accessible to screen readers, search engines and browsers that do not have Flash support.
